Me, but in details -

My name is Fabien, and I am a Game and Level Designer. And sometimes a tentacular project manager but that's another story.

I'm in professional transition, and in my ancient life, I was an IT Technician, and at the end of my career, System Administrator.

Now I am creating games !

Writing - About the principle of "game" in general, and by that i mean, the meaning of "games" in human cognitive developpment. I'm writing an essay about that, it's a really hard subject to study, and even harder to write !

Sound Design - I've created all the sounds you can hear in Turbo Light Rush, and the OST too. I've been a musician during 8 years, and i've played in a metal band, and did many gigs. Music has always been my passion, and i try to communicate that in my games. A bad sound design is a real game breaker.

Sport - Weightlifting, to understand the mecanisms of the body, and how to break my limits. Boxing too, to get out of my confort zone and to confront myself to a certain kind of violence, but not too often because my coach is way stronger than me.

Movies and Cinema - I try to see as many movies as I can. We learn so much seeing movies, and I have really strong memories when I was a child, when my dad bring me with him into theaters. I remember the lights outside, and living really strong stories.

Pocahontas was my very first strong memory. The Lord of the Rings and Interstellar are also among the best films of all time in my opinion, and Oppenheimer more recently. Overall, I'm very attracted to what Christopher Nolan is doing ! Of course I've seen too many movies to talk about them all.

Modeling and Sculpting - I really like to sculpt creatures and 3D models. I think it's my artistic part that need to express itself. I've made several types of sculpt until now, and several level building scenes you can check on this site.

Creating, and music in general - I love composing music, especially melodic synthwave (or less melodic, it depends !). For me the Synthwave genre is a new way to express a certain form of nostalgia. Based on sounds like the moog synth or even old arcade video games (some 8bits sounds or just the ambient sound of the arcade room), that particular style of music is a good way to feel and remember some childhood memories, and a time when everything was simple and innocent. I think I'll write an article about it in the future. If you can "feel" the music, then you can communicate emotions, simple as that.
